As anticipated in previous reports the potato market has fallen, ami in further decline is likely. Interim, linos are hard to quit. A plentiful .supply is in sight in the South Island, and the prospects of any export trade is this year remote. Onions are now coming on the market in fair quantities, with good demand for matured lots. Eggs have advanced 2d during the week and are .soiling well. Pork is in excellent demand, and a much larger supply could bo taken. Wo have no improvement to report in cheese. Recent rains have caused a considerable number of grass seed orders to come in, and this dopartinent of our business has been kept very busy. "Wo expect seed pens of all varieties to be in good demand tin's year, owing lo partial failure of Blenheim crops. Chaff is firm ; oats and wheat are unchanged. FRUIT.- Choice dessert and cooking apples are in good demand. Tomntoes are at bedrock, and realising nominal rates only. VEGETABLES.- Cucumbers are plentiful and low in price.
