Further concerning the matte Major Uurlinson. manager of tli Boys' Training Farm, suggested th council should consent to paymen ol an annual fixed rate in lion o supply by meter. On the motion <if the .Mayor, sec ondod hv Councillor Parker, ih council resolved, "That the counci cannot consider the proposal of thi malinger of the Boys' Training Fnrn to dispense with the water meter being of the opinion, .after consults tion with Mr Cliniie. its engineer that the accident to the meter pai was not caused by an excessive flow but probably by a flaw in the construction of the pan.
