Cricket.

HOHOWHENUA v. POlilltUA. The Hoiwlieuua representative team, which left the Levin station on Friday night for Porirua, numbered eight. On arrival at Otaki the three Otaki players did not put in an appearance; so the team had to go short. Oh arrival at Porirua they were met by Mr Cocker, Porirna's skipper. Tho Horowhenua team were the guests of Porirua, and were hospitably entertained-through-out. The wicket for the match, also the outfield, were in splendid order, and a credit to the Porirua ; players. Levin were given two substitutes, and the match began. Morowhenua, though outclassed in the first imniißs. made » much hot' ter showing in the second, with the result tb.at they wore just beaten by one wicket and 20 runs. Details are as follows:—
