« EVENTS IN SHANNON. (Chronicled by Our Resident Representative). The Horticultural Show and salo .tf work, which opens in the Druids' Hall to-day (Friday) and continues >ii Saturday, promises to be more successful than any of the previous exhibitions of the kind got up in (•■jiincction with the Ladies' Guild •■if the Presbyterian Church. The h'now will be opened by Mr Venn, at 2.30 p.m. A party of vocalists from Fox ton, including Mr Buglass. will assist in the programme in the evening. Mrs Moyiiikin's friends will be glad to hear that she is getting the better of her recent illness. FROM GRAVE TO GAY. The many friends of slr A. Lewis will be sorry to hear that ho is sti'l very ill in the Wellington Hospital, and no hopes are entertained f<v his recovery.
