Welsh Courting.
Courting in rural parts of v> ales was described in the toliowing terms by tho Rev. U wily in Davies, of Carmarthen, of tho West Coast Free Church Councils' Federation at Llanelly:— Next Saturday night hundreds x>l young farm hands would sot out tor the social event of the week, a courting expedition. By ten or eleven o'clock the young .man would be throwing dust at tho girl's bedroom' window as a signal that ho had arrivol. The girl would creep downstairs, without boots, to open the kitchen door. The youthful lover would also very likely take off hie boots, and tho pair would roinain together in the kitchen till three or four o'clock next morning. It should be said in their defence that they had no other opportunity and, besides, if a young man and a young women were seen walking to gether in the daylight to or from chapel, it would be a subject for ridicule and slander.
