Levin and District Beautifying- Society.
The committee met last flight n the Council Chamber. A letter uas received troni the Coronation Swimming Club, thanking the committee for giving up the date originally decided upon lor tiie floral fete and gymkhana, to the Swimming Club. The art union tickets, which have been printed, were distributed to members of the committee. The: tickets should find a ready sale, as the prizes are valuable, and besides, the ticket admits to the grounds on the day of the tete .and tho price is only one shilling . It was reported that Mrs Porter had very kindly donated trophies for tho best decorated bicycles, and other trophies have been given by Messrs •J. G. Jamieson and Freyberg. Trophies have also been promised voluntarily by Messrs Iv. Aitken, E. W. J Smith, S. Brewster «nd Mrs Lancaster. Tn the decorative section tno items •should attract wide interest, viz., the best decorated two-wheel horse vehicle and tho best decorated pony. The boys and girls of the district havo in this last item a chance to distin guish themselves. Natural flowers and foliage must lie used, and on the J9th February, it is to bo hoped ' many gay turnouts will flash to and Iro in tho Levin Park Domain.
