Saddlery and harness-making busy. Clothing trades: Dressmaking ..ad millinery very busy. Tailoring (factories and order) very busy. Retail trades: Clothing, hoots, drapery, and groceries very busy. Printing trades: Bookbinding and printing very busy. Meat-freezing, etc.: 'Hie work? have just resumed operations, "and expect a busy season. Coachbuilding trades: Blacksmithing and coach and carriage building busy. Cycle and motor trades very busy. Agricultural operations: Farming, dairying, etc.—Butter-factories are very busy, ami a record season has been experienced; fa rift workers are fully occupied. Miscellaneous: "Glaxo" (dried-milk product) factory very busy. Flaxmilling in full swing. Unskilled lahour: There is sufficient local supply to meet demand. There have been very few Applicants, for work this month, and only four men have been assisted to work, all going to p l . irate- employers.
