A NIGHT OF REFINED HUMOUR

A special holiday performance tvill 1)0 given in the Century Hall this evening, by the Levin Dramatic Society. assisted by prominent Wellington players. Special arrangements have just been completed for the appearance of M>r Fred Hicks, whistling expert, who will appear both in the first and second jxirt of the programme. Mr Fred Kicks has much to his credit as a whistler, having appeared very successfully in each of the four principal cities of the dominion. On this occasion. Mr Recks will be heard in some of his latest successes, including "The Bowery Boy." which won him praise from both press and public on bis recent appearance in "the, Empire City." Patrons are assured" of a pleasant evening's entertainment, the programme containing as it does the names of many of the, first priae winners at the recent New Zealand competitions. One of the selections for to-night is "He and She." a unique, novel, and artistic dialogue. ''He" will be represented by Mr .Norman Aitken, .md ''Slie" I>y Miss ißuby Scott. Mrs 0. 8. Keedweli presents her powerful representation of "Hagar." being a dramatic description of tho departure of Hagar to the desert. The comedietta "Tho Real Mr Q," presented bv Messrs Bentley Russell. Norman Aitken. and Kenneth Aitken,' though tho last item 011 the programme, is by no means the least. Tt is suro to hold the intense interest of the audience from start to finish. Mr Norman Aitken will appear as "Svengali," from "Trilby," a-sketch which he gave successfully at tho recent New Zealand competitions. Space will not permit of the wliolo nrogrammo being mentioned, but the Levin Dramatic Society assures Uts patrons that this will bo one of the best entertainments yet presented to a local audience. The doors will open at 7.15 and those who have lot booked their seats, and intend witnessing the performance, are advised to attend early. Members of the Levin band will meet at tho Century Hall at 7 o'clock.
