END. itif Government meteorologist telegraphed from Wellington at noon day as follows:— The southerly i.s decreasing, ami tin? winds backing by west to north after about .'iG hours. Tho weather will probably prove squally with heavy showers and the night will probably be very cold. Tho weather should improve temporarily, but there is every prospect of bad weather following at the end of the week. The Varo meter is rising temporarily.
