A year later she noes to pawn the necklace, hut is met by her former lover, and is induced to go hack. .Jack advises •J.lines that Ataggie is once again the -tar of Paris. Hastening to Paris. •J.ime.s unexpectedly meets Maggie. At the sight of .James Maggie throws her drills around him. Magmo rushes away, hut meets .James at the tstudio, where at last he finds the true expression, and is able to finish the portrait of Alolly. Maggie s lover enters, aii(J seeing the portrait, picks up a knife with tlie intention of destroying it, hut Maggie steps in trout, of it and receives a wound in the iiinn. This incident opens .James's eyes to Maggie's love for him. and wion they are marWed."
