OS LIFE WORTH LIVING?
(By "Philo.") To almost everyone there occur times ivhen the question whether lil'e is worth living thrusts itself upon them, but there are, fortunately, very few who come to a negative conclusion and decide to anticipate nature by hurry ing "behind the veil."
To those in the possession of buoy ant health the question occurs but seldom, but there are so many people who are never in thorough health, and others who suffer from pain and sick neas, that to t\«nn —the far larger ckisj—the vital question is apt to intrude itself with persistency.
It is remarkable how many people suffer from pain and sickness which they could readily be cured of if the;.were aware of the cause of t heir trouble. Of course there nvo discaso* which cannot be cured, but such <ii> orders as rheumatism, gout, ncuval-ri. , . lumbago, backache, sciniira. blorrl r:i« orders, anaemia, indigestion, ness, jaundice, sick headache, geneva. debility, gravel, stone and troubles, arising, as they do so frequently, from a diseased or in.u'tivr condition of the kidneys and liver, air amenable to proper treatment. When the kidneys and liver are working actively and in harmony, uric and biliary poisons are thrown off from th , . , sy.s tern in a natural manner, and. ;;:• it ir. tho presence of these poisons in the blood which causes the suffering nil.-.il ed by any of the conipkunts montioii'-d. the removal of the poisons mean:; tin , consequent cessation of pain and suffering. The kidneys ol tht average perron filter and extract from tho blond about three pints of urine every day. In this quantity of urine .should lie dissolved about an ounce of urea, ten or twelve grains in weight of uric acid, and other animal and mineral matter varying from a third of an ounce to nearly an ounce. If the ki.lncys are working freely and healthily all th'V solid matter leaves the body dissolved in the urine, but if through weakness or disease the kidneys are unable to do their work properly, a quantity of these urinary substances remains in the blood and flows through the veins contaminating the whole system. Then wo suffer from some form of uric poisoning, such as Rheumatism, Gout. Lumbago, Backache, Sciatica, Persistent Headache, Neuralgia, Gravel, Stone, and Bladder Troubles. The liver is an automatic chemical laboratory. In the liver various substances are actually made from the blood. Two or three pounds of bile are thus made by the liver every day. The liver takes sugar from the blood, converts it into another form, andstores it up so as to bo able to again supply it to the blood, as the latter may p require enrichment. The liver change* uric acid, which is insoluble, into urea, which is completely soluble, and the liver also deals with the blood corpuscles which have lived their life and are useful no longer. When the liver is inactive or diseased we suffer from some form of biliary poisoning, such as Indigestion, Biliousness. Anaemia, Jaundice, Sick Headache, General Debility, and Blood Disorders.
So intimate is the relation between the work done by the kidneys and that done by the liver, that where.there is any failure on the part of the kidneys the liver is apt to become affected in sympathy, and vice versa. It was the realisation of the importance of this close union of the labour of these vital organs which resulted in the discovery of the medicine now known throughout the world as Warner's Safe Cure. Certain investigators, knowing what a boon it would be to humanity if some medicine could be found which would act specifically on both the kidnoys and liver, devoted themselves to an exhaustive search for such a medium, and their devotion was eventually rewarded by their success in compounding a medicine which possesses the required quality. Warner's Safe Cure exhibits a marvellous healing action in cases of functional or chronic disease of the kidneys and liver, and restoring them, as, generally, it is able to do, to health and activity, it, of necessity, cures com plaints due to the retention in the system of urinary and biliary poisons. A. vigorous action of the kidneys and liver naturally eliminates the poisons, and troubles due to tho presence of the poisons cease. Cures effected by Warner's Safe Cure are permanent simply because they arc natural. Diseases, diagnosed as Bright's disease, have often yielded to treatment by Warner's Safe Cure. ''Warner's Safe Cure is sold by chemists and storekeepers everywhere, both in the original (ss) bottles and in the cheaper (2e 6d) non-alcoholic (Concenform
