Tlie market as. very irregular, doubtless on account of tlio approaching 'holidays. Potatoes fell during the-week, but the market today is bare and an advance is very probable. ' Onions arc in steady demand, with regular weekly supplies arriving. Eggs alive advanced and a further rise is likely. Porkers are in fair demand at the reduced rates now ruling. Baconcrs are slow of sale, suckers aro particularly enquired for, and chopeprs are in fail' demand. Turkeys aro especially wanted, being very scarce. iOtlier poultry is realising fair prices, where quality is good, but inferior lines are lower than usual. Strawberries are lower mainly owing to the condition on arrival during the warm weather. Tomatoes are in splendid demand. Apricots, plums and poaches are now coming forward, and excellent .values obtained. .During the week we landed 1200 cases of Californiian. dessert apples, practically all of. which have now been cleared at (satisfactory prices.
