A cablegram received at the Horowbenua Chronicle office at noon today states that the gale continues, and that ten persons have been killed in Scotland. There is heavy snow in Lancashire and North Wales.
At the conclusion of the Levin Horticultural Society's flower show last night, an address was given by the president (Mr Jame.s-Prou.se), congratulating the members upon the success of the event. He gave thanks to the judges, the stewards, tho ladies who ran the tea rooms, the public for its patronage, and made special reference to the services given by tho Levin Mrass Rand. It had been moribund for some years, said Mr Prouse, 'but lately it had taken on new vigor, and he hoped it won Id receive from the citizens of Levin a s atisfactorv degree of encouragement. and assistance.
