Now furnishings for the homo are set out liy advertisement in today's Chronicle, from Messrs iStik'b and .Matheson, the White IJou*e. Levin. 'J ho scries of views of Levin, of which 10,000 hare been sold wero rescued from tho late lire in excellent order, the hulk of the stock having been packed in boxes. There arc eight in the series, including a -scene in the Avenue, a scene of Levin (from Mr Lancaster's property) Horowlicmia Lake (from the other side, showing Levin in the distance),' moonlight carnival, Horowlionua lake, Oxford street, Queen street, cadet muster and Levin schoolThey sold readily at 3d each, but Mr Thompson, bookseller, will treat them as salvage, and retail them at Id each up till Christmas.
