A NOTE FROM THE TENOR HORN!
To tho Editor. »Sir, —Your correspondent "Kettlodnun" is beating his instrument t<> the wrong time. As a matter of i'act J. was not a trustee of tho instruments Jit all; I was merely one of the guarantors of the uniform*. These uniforms had to be paid for, finally, by public subscription, which released the guarantors. This money was raised by "the Immortal I'hipps," who organised concerts, fancy costume football matches, etc. As on old bandsman. 1 «-ni willing at all times to add my milo to any fund connected with the band, but I object to like "Kettledrum" trying to mislead the public as io the actual position, for had it no 1 ; been for the public subscription tho guarantors would have h>;ul to dip dwp into their pockets. As to the brass instruments, I had nothing whatever to do with them. "Kettledrum" i.s well named ; he makes a lot of noise, but there is nothing in him! —-Yours, etc., VR'RD PINK. Levin.
