As previously mentioned there are several wayside stations at which one or more of tlie above trains will stop whenever passorigcrs desiro to bo sat down or taken up. Local residents may ascertain which arc the trains which cater x or tlioir towns, and may then work out from the above figures, the time which the train will tako to travel from the station immediately preceding. The Auckland express reaches « Paluicrston, from the North, at 12.40 p. m., and arrives at Thomson at 4.7 p.m. The Auckland exprciss loaves Thorndon at 12.15 p.m. and reaches I'almerston at 3.35 p in.
