In the road rnco Timarii to Christchurch J. Sutherland (Opawa) was first. H. Henderson (Wanganui) made the fastest time, shr 20min 31sec -about ten minutes better than the existing record. The management of the King's Theatre, Levin, announces a special star feature picture for Monday night next, entitled "The Sins of the Fathers." The film was produced by tho Eclair Company, and the series is described as "a sensational production." 'The annual prize giving of St. Mary's Sunday School, Levin, was held yesterday, in St. Mary's Schoolroom, from -1 to 7 p.m. Previous to tea, the weather being fine, the children played games outside, and the boys improvised a football for the occasion. They then sat down to a repast of sandwiches, cake and suchlike. , More games followed, while the teachers had some refreshments. The prizes were distributed by the Vicar, who made a few preliminary remarks on the value of Sunday School training in after years, how it often influenced a boy for life, and made both conscientious industrious men, and thoughtful, thrifty women. The Vicar said he had received a- letter from their late superintendent, Mr McCalman, thanking both, scholars and teachers for their gift <of a .gold-mounted fountain pen. Ho then congratulated them on securing Mrs H. C. Gapper for their superintendent.
