The Methodist Church.

The annual church meeting was held in tlio Century Ilnll last e eninlc- Then l mis a large attendance, visitors being present from Otaki and Manakau. The Rev, Spiers, who was introduced by Mr F. Penn, of Otaki, was wok-owed on taking nj) tlie duties relinquished by tho Rev. Mr Blaekmore. Reports of tlie various agencies of the Church were presented. These comprised ;i report of the Sunday School work", the Ladies Guild, Church Property and Trust Funds, and the ordinary income of the Church. These, reports revealed a very satisfactory state of things, and a cause for thankfulness. They showed that the congregation had contributed liberally and systematically to tho various organisations of the church during the year. A distribution of prizes to senior competitors in the Scripture question competition took place, the winners being Miss Goldsmith, Miss Cora Sutherland, and Miss Mahel Gray. Tlie presentations were made by the Rev. T. F. Jones. A very enjoyable supper, prepared hy the Ladies Guild, was partaken of, and afterwards games and: competitions filled in the remainder of a very pleasant evening.
