The American Federation of Labour announces that it will not Join in the general strike that is being organised b.v the Industrial Workers of the World with the object of securing tho men's release. September 9. Tn an address before the International Chemical Congress at Columbia University, Dr S. lOvde. of CJiristiania, declared that if Britain's enemies were to cut off her supplies of nitrate from Chili, the British arrnv would soon find itself in the predicament of being without ammunition for its guns.
