A meeting of local business 11 en, convened by the Lyttelton Harbour Btoard and the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce, Mas hel dthis afternoon to consider the question of local evidence to be given before tho Empire Trade Commission. It was decided that committees be appointed, representing agricultural and pastoral, trade, comerce, industrial, and harbours interests, these committees to make inquiries and supply infonnatioii. This information is to be forwarded to tho Dominion Royal Commissioner through the Minister for Internal Affairs. Tt was decided also to recommend experts to give evidence before the Commissioners when the Commission is beiug held in New Zealand. HT.S SIMPLE PURPOSE. DUXEDIN, September 23.
