[per press association.] EDITOR AND LABOUR LEADER. (From New Zealand Times Correspondent). CREYMOUTH, August 23. At the Magistrate's Court at Reef ton to-day, before Mr J. G. L. Hewitt, S.M., C. 11. Thornton, editor of tho Times, was charged, on the information of R. Semple, with having used abusive language towards him in Broadway, lleef ton, on July 9th., within the hearing of passersby, with intent to provoke a breach of the peace, such Words being, inter alia, "Semple, they toll me you are going to Australia; may you* rot there, you rotten Mr Phillips applied for an adjournment, as the principal, of four witnesses had to obey a subpoent to the Supreme Court at Chmtchur'jh, which prevented his attendance at the Magistrate's Ctourt that day. His "Worship adjourned the oa3\ and on the question of costs said that it was a matter for subsequent consideration.
