NEW ZEALAND FARMERS' COOPERATIVE DISTRIBUTING! CO
WEEKLY BJEPOUT.
(Special to the "Horowhenn*
Chronicle. ,, )
WELLINGTON, Juno 21
Potatoes are unchanged in value, with fair demand. The continued wet weather will decrease supplies coining forward, and some advance is probable. Good quality onions are in demand, but many of the lots now coming to hand are of inferior quality. We have realised 6id per lb this week for prime porkers, which is practically a record pricolor many years. Larger supplies of poultry are wanted. Eggs are now steady, and should remain so for a few weeks We have special enquiries for separator, milled and dairy butter in bulk, which iis selling up to Hid per lb. Pea and wheat meal, also barley meal, are in good demand, and pollard is now available. Maiz oi,s very high and scarce, and peas are being generally supplied, instead. Linseed oil cake has lately been in good demand, and considerable sales made. Chaff is coming to hand freely. Oats are weaker. 'Rains have to some extent damaged the late Southland oat crop, which will throw a quantity of discoloured grain into local consumption.
VEGETABLES— Cauliflower is higher, but cabbage is still low. ■ FRUIT.-Excellent demand for all lines.
