Gardener) presiding, and the following members present: Councillors Lancaster. Fosella. Blenkhom, Hannan, Barker, Vrouse, I l 'ranee and Matheson, with Mr I'. W. Goldsmith, Town Clerk. Patients arriving at night from the country had great difficulty in find ing the place. As the hospital wara semi-public institution and wa.used largely by people outside the borough, it should be in the interest s : of the town that the place should be made as convenient as possible. The Mayor remarked that this report, was the outcome of the motion passed at the last meeting of the Council referring the matter to tin Fire Brigade comniittee for them to report to the Council. meeting. OTHER MATTERS . Many other matters are reported in other columns of this issue. GOOD FRIDAY LMCTIUiJSS. The Town Clerk reported that the lessee of the King's Theatre had asked for permission to hold two eutertailimenth on Good Friday. He had submitted the programme. The M-ayor remaiked that in connection with this matter a meeting of the Lighting and Finance Committees had been held, and several councillors were present when tb< application came in. "With oiv< exception they were unanimous that the application be granted. Cr. France saw no possible objection to granting the application. Cr. Lancaster expressed a .similar opinion. The entertainments would not be given during church hours. The Mayor: I think the, management might have sent complimentary tickets to the councillors. (Loud laughter and applause). On the motion of Cr. France, seconded by Cr. Fosella, the necessary permission was granted.
