ANOTHER VIEW.
To the Editor. Sir,—The amateur politicians who represent the Opposition in this constituency now present a figure that must make the very gods weep. With what exultation , with what braggart rejoicings, they hailed the return of a Labour man in the place of a tried and trusted friend ! In but a few weeks time they are clothed in sackcloth and ashes; yea ''they reel to and fro iike a drunken man, and aro at their wit* ends." The very rod they made wherewith to beat the Government has been forged into a weapon for their own castigation. To see the mournful faces of theso political strategists brings a smile to the faces of many of the more astute and less outcrying politicians in Levin. Mr Robertson may, indeed, vote against the Government, but the amazingly ludicrous thing is that the Opposition is now actually crawling to the Labour man and beseeching him to "vote for Massey." Has craven hypocrisy over gone so far? It is a most interesting climax in a campaign of calumny and misrepresentation, and those of us who belong to the Liberal Labour Party watch with amazed satisfaction the antics of those amateur politicians known as the Conservative party. Verily they "digged a pit for their enemies, and lo! they are fallen*into the midst of it themselves!"— Yours etc. AMATEUR PARSON. Levin.
