Inter-Club Cricket.

HOROWHENUA CLUB FORMED. The meeting called for the purpose of resuscitating the Homwhenua Crick ec Association was hold 011 Friday evening at Mr Horn's titudio, Levin. Major Burlinson, who convened the meeting, was iu the chair, and thero were present two delegates from tJio Training Farm (Mr Eggleton and Mr Finning), two from Levin (.Mr Harding, on behalf of a Saturday team, anil Mr Judd for the Wednesday team). The delegates of Fox ton and Otaki telephoned that they were tillable to get over, but would readily fall in with anything done at the meeting. It was proposed by Mr Eggeltori, nfid seconded by Mr Harding, "''l'll,it the only business of the meeting tonight bo to make a draw for theHugh Hall shield between the clubs competing." It Kii.s proposal by Major Burlinhoii. And seconded by Mr Fggleton, 'That Mr 1?. S. Mom act as secretary (pro tern) of the Association." It was resolved to play one round only tor the shield : also that no edncsday player he allowed to play in any competition matches; and that Pitch competing club should forward, at once, a list of naiuen of it.s members. This was done with a view of stopping importation of players (or say. a visitor who was a crack player being atsked to play). The competing dubs are Otaki, Iraining Farm, Levin and Foxton, with the possibility of Tainui and Man akan coming in. The draw was as follows: Otaki v. I'oxton; Levin v. Training Farm; and should Taiuni and Manakau come in they would plav each other. Ihe Levin and Training Farm shield match took place on Saturday afternoon, and Foxton and Otiki are making arrangements to play on the same ground next Saturday.' The meeting adjourned after a hearty vote of thanks had been accorded to Major Burlinson for the great interest he has taken in local cricket.

LEVIN" v. TRAINING FARM

Harding won the toss, and elected to bat, going in himself with I'ield. He opened to the bowling of Eggelton. liarding was very lucky at the start, shaping poorly. Thou Dixon and Williams got going, Dixon hitting very strongly for 17 not out, and Williams i! 2 not out. The innings realited 158. Finning bowled really well for the Farm; Eggclton howled with bad luck, several catches being missed off his bowling. Hanuan bowled well. The innings was declared with nine ivickets down. The Farm thou went to the wickets, McNeil and Clark opening to Field and iiout. Rout's tricky break bowling proved too big a problem for the l 1 arm's hist batsmen. Subsequently Kiwi got going and made lu in iirst-class style, Kuvi, who is only a boy, shows signs of turning out a good player. The next stand was made by Gascoigne, who got Rout taken off, lifting ihim over the boundary, but Gascoigne was dismissed by Williams, when lie had made 24, Eggelton being next in order with the scorc. The feature of the game was the bowling of Williams, wlio did the hat trick, getting four wickets for one ruii. Field bowled very steadily most of the time. The fielding of the Levin teem was fairly good, but the Farm marred their helding by dropping catohea. Major Burlinson entertained the Levin team to tea. The following are the scorcs:— LEVIN.
