HASTINGS, This Day. A meeting was bold in Hastings yesterday afternoon for die ptuposo of forming a branch of tlie New Zealand' Sports Protection League. Sixty persons were present, representing all brandies of sport. Tiie meeting decided to form a Ilawke's Day centre. Tlie election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mr G. P. Bonnelly ; vice-presidents, Messrs E. IT. .Williams, L*\ Logan, Geo. Hunter, M.P., Prank Gordon, G. It. King H. M. Campbell, M.P., It. D. D. McLean, Leonard Story and W. H. Hartgill.
