At any rate, we opine so fi'Otn an impassioned Ode to 'Spring in one of its recent issues. This is the tray the inspired bard begins his lyric:—
O Joy! tin; gentle spring is here!
And every cowherd woos his dc-ar 'With tested words of butterfat
(WJiat more superlative than that?) Quito in tho best vein of springpoetry that. Certainly tho Cow and her Butter deserve an kxlo now and again. Poets indite passionate, burning words to the moon and Jhe rata-blossom and the daisy that decks til© green, and PhylHs's hair, and <ill that sort of thing, .but Butter is surely of more importance. TVhy shouldn't it inspire some of our budding Tennysons and mute inglorious Miltons? Tho Chronicle's office poet will supply a Jong-felt want.
