THE WATER RACE DIVERTERS.

To the Editor. -Sir, —AV.hen I read in Saturday's Chronicle that the County Council and the Borough Council would unite to prevent people from diverting the water races from their proper courses I thought there would he immediate improvement. What was my astonishment on Sunday when I found them running lower and slower than ever before, although we had had a couple of wet days. If 1 can detect anyone interfering with the water races T will lay an information myself aaid risk being called informer. Where men are so selfish as some of them are around here there is no need for ■ordinary consideration being given them.—Yours etc., WERAIIOA.
