"THE IMMORTAL GEORGE."
To the Editor. Sir 3 —-There seem to be as many letter writers in'the Shannon ilaximlls as there arc vats under the cook's who.re. but how is it none of them think of writing to The Chronicle about the "Immortal George?" As fln admirer of his who views him from the and bless him every day lie tops us off with good old "spotted dog" or treacled doughboys, I write in to ask him why doesn't he give the flaxics a few views in print. It's right enough him laying down the law to one or two cronies who arc afraid to contradict him, but let him put his views about politics and the candidates for this scat in print. Then we would seo how the world at large received him and his speeches. To make doughboys and cookhouse speeches is one thing, ihut to put your opinions in print andi stand fire from the hedge brigade is another matter, George my boy.— Yours, etc., PLATNBTLL. Shannon, 2f)th October, 1911.
