Mr V. W. Jones, of the Corner Book Arcade, Levin, has an announcement in.to-day's Chromclore<»arding .special numbers of the New Zealand; illustrated weeklies wkch are now obtainable. They are known as " the Christmas numbers, possibly because they are published nearer to Christmas than to Easter. 'However, the pictures am] letterpress are very good, and the fact that they are published in October instead of December can b'e overlooked. The coloured plates which accompany these editions are excellent. Mr Jones also lias for sale seine beautifully executed views in art .sepia," entitled "Scenes fmm • New Zealand." There are three books in all: one of Xotli Island scenes, one of South, and one of a composite, nature. Anotlher photographic series of New Zealand views, known >as " The Dainty," is for sale at an extremely low figure. Collinson and Ciinninghame, Ltd., of Palmerston North, who' are always in the front with latest productions in everything in the drapery, clothing, rurnisihiing and ladies' wear, being .also milliners and upholsterers, announce that they have shipments of new goods to arrive direct from the manufacturers every two weeks. Their prices, they say, are second to none in the dominion. A new brick 'building has been erected, their new windows are as fine as anything in New Zealand. A hearty invitation is given to all Shannon and Levin visitors to Palmerston to come in and have a look round Coll in son .and CunningTiame's, Ltd., at Broad street, Palmerston North. Tho Levin Auctioneering Co. advertise particulars of their furniture and produce sale to-day.
