Mr V. W. Jones, of the Corner Book Arcade, Levin, has an announcement in.to-day's Chromclore<»arding .special numbers of the New Zealand; illustrated weeklies wkch are now obtainable. They are known as " the Christmas numbers, possibly because they are published nearer to Christmas than to Easter. There are three books in all: one of Xotli Island scenes, one of South, and one of a composite, nature. Anotlher photographic series of New Zealand views, known >as " The Dainty," is for sale at an extremely low figure. Collinson and Ciinninghame, Ltd., of Palmerston North, who' are always in the front with latest productions in everything in the drapery, clothing, rurnisihiing and ladies' wear, being .also milliners and upholsterers, announce that they have shipments of new goods to arrive direct from the manufacturers every two weeks. Their prices, they say, are second to none in the dominion. A new brick 'building has been erected, their new windows are as fine as anything in New Zealand.
