A lire stai tod in the premises of t-lio ParrainnUa Woollen Co. occupying two top flats. Those and the 'hi_gher iloors were burned out. The lower floors, whore there was a large niuriber of motor cars, lorries and oil and other stock, were damaged by water and smoke. A number of smaller tenants also suffered. The fire brigades were handieaiiped by the poor water supply. A squad of bluejackets from the warship rendered valuable assistance, removing motors and helping the firemen. The damage, which is estimated at £10,000, is covered by insurances
