From the Islands news ill as been received that the Government punitive expedition has returned to Port Moresby iVovr. Central Papua. A number of native prisoners wore charged with murder. It appears that Murniiai villagers invited the Kariieiiia fcni esnion to a dance. The visitors, .li-scoveiing all 'but two Miiruitai men were absent, killed these two unci -massacred the women nn-1 children.- They wiped out the village, fea-itod on the bodies of t'eir victims, and departed, with milch loot. Tho expedition had much difficulty in capturing the ■"urderois.
