FOOTBALL.

LEVIN-WANDERER SOCIAL

The annual gathering in connection with, the Levin-Wanderer Football Club, given by Mr J. W. Procter at his residence, was this year by kind permission of Mr Winiata, held at tho Hokio Meeting House, on Friday evening. On thUs occasion Mr Pooler and Mr Winiata combined their efforts, and the result was extremely satisfactory. Mrs Proctor and Mrs Winiata gave most valuable assistance, and the spacious hall was very tastefully decorated with clematis and all kinds of spring flowers. There was a very large gathering, and Mrs Fairs provided tho music for the dancing, whichi was kept up till three o'clock on Saturday morning. Mr Fred. Pink made an efficient M.C. During the evening the competition banner which the club won this season from Hui Mai, was handed to Mr Martin Winiata on behalf of the Levin-Wanderer Club by the President, Mr J. G. Hankins, who in a few happily selected sentences, congratulated the club on securing the banner. Mr Martin Winiata then accepted the banner, amid loud applause. Tho Mayor of Levin (Mr B. R. Gardener) was unable to be present, and sent a. letter of apology. The Mayoress represented his "Worship.
