LEVEL OF THE LAKE.
To the Editor. V Sir,—"Aqua" draws attention to the fact that no one has replied to his article wi tho lowering of tho lake. The fact is it is unanswerable. T have lived in tho. district for nearly twenty years, and, to my kno v.', ledge, there lias been no increase in the waters of the lake, ft seems to me that there must always he some one to meddle with matters t-hey are entirely ignorant of, and 1 am glad to see Councillor France has had' a- tilt at these individmls. Leave the lake alone, and give the younger people an 'opportunity of organising sculling races on Saturday afternoons and .Sundays. Tliby would be far happier, and become more manly by doing this than by sitting on the Post Office steps on Sundays, smoking Old -.fudge and chewing their finger nails.—Yours, etc., r
