Four out of the five houses destroyed by fire at Haitaitai, Kilbirnie north, last night, were owned by Bird Brothers, and were insured for £300 each in the Alliance Office. The owners state that they are heavy lasers. The fifth house, owned and occupied by Gilbert Hall, of the Union Company's repairing staff,_ was not insured ; nor was his furniture covered. The Phoenix office had a risk of £75 on furniture belonging to O'lcane, who was on© of Bird Brothers tenants. It is not known whether Godfrey's furniture was insured.
