The council had been threatened with an action for taking too much out of the. Ohau. Richards thought that the best thing to do was to investigate tlhe matter before next meeting. .If it were possible, tho Ohau people ought to bo assisted in the matter. Cr. The County Engineer reported that the AYaikanae river protection works were now completed. They cost more than was anticipated, hutit was no use leaving them in an unfinished state, or .what had already been done might have been rendered useless.
