Levin Presbyterian Church.
CONCERT AT THE CENTURY HALL. To wind up the Spring Fair and Bulb .Show in connection with the Presbyterian Church, a nrost sucees.sful concert was held last evening in the Century Hall, the items being supplied by the prize-winners in tho various competitions. There was a very large attendance, and a highly diversified programme was .submitted. From every point of ! view it was of distinctly' high class quality, and hearty applause greet- . i'd the efforts of each artist. The ' programme consisted, with encores, J of upwards of thirty items, mud it was considerably after ten o'clock before the proceeding?? concluded. The Mayoress (Mrs Gardener) presented the prizes, and the Rev. A. C. Ivanderson, at the close of the proceedings, made a few happy observations on the success of the show and concert. The following was the programme: — Pianoforte solo, Miss Inglis; recitation, Gilbert Amis: song. Mrs Randersoii; euphonium solo, Norman Olark; quartette. Spring F;iir Entertainers; recitation, .Miss Gurr; pianoforte solo. Miss Ida Procter; song, Mr A. Prin-gle; recitation. Mi \ Gray; song, Walter Hunter (e'norcd); song (comic), Mr D. Anderson (encored); pianoforte solo, Miss Tvy Pink; cornet solo, William Hyder; song. Miss Pringlo; violin solo. Miss Maud Remington (encored); recitation. Mr Lyon (encored); song, Miss C. Remington; impromptu speech. ("Should Bachelors bo Taxed ") Mr T. G. Vincent; soncr. Mr F. Penn ; quartette. Spring Fair Entertainers (encored); song (comic), Mr Lan-t-W'ster (encored); recitation, Mr F. Penn. During an interval, the Mayoress gvue away the prizes won in tihe re■ffiit competitions and congratulated the prize-winners on their success. ■Sl'.o expressed the hope thnt next yenr the competitions would he lie-kl o>i a larger scale, and that the entries, which numbered 85 in this instance, would bo doubled. At the clo'K* of the proceedings, tlio Rev. A. 0. Randerson proposed; a number of hearty votes of thanks.
