OBITUARY.

MR T. W. ROBINSON. Another old resident of Levin, Mr T. W. Robinson, passed away last night at 7.20, at the residence- of the "family in Oxford street north. Months ago ho was treated for a growth in the lower lip. and to all appearances, it had healed, but later on ho found that on both sides of tho jaw painful excrescences appeared, and after bearing with them as long as he could, he got medical advice. Throe doctors, one after the other, told him plainly that it was a case of cancer, that an operation would then lie useless ami ho could hut let the trouble take its course, as lie was physically weak. Knowing of the sucress Mr GeorgeAstridgo had had with a young man named Jackson, whom medical men could not cure. Mr Robinson put Ihiinself under Mr Asiridge's treatment, and for weeks ho derived so much "benefit that both the operator and the patient believed success was assured. One lump on the left jaw disappeared—apparently it dried up: the other wa.s a stubborn case, but here again it was kept in check. the difficulty being in treating it inside the jaw. Some days ago it was evident that tine vitality of Mr Robinson was much lower, ajid the cancer made its deadly grip upon the throat, and could not he dislodged. Mr Robinson leaves a widow and two grown up daughters. He came to New Zealand thirty-nine years ago, and for thirty-eight years worked on railway lines as a platelayer. Recently he was superannuated. and worked here and there about the district. His age was fi-l, .and he was a happy, unassuming man. much interested in temperance reform and other matters. TTo was in the Foresters' Lodge for 30 years, and wa.s for several years secretary of the Levin Association of Spiritualists. Tn the home he was a kind-hearted man, and the loss to the family, consisting of Mrs R-obinsnn and two daughters, is very severely folt. The funeral will take place at 3 o'clock on Friday afternoon. The- Foresters will" take port and Mr W. C. Nation will conduct the Spiritualists' service.
