As previously mentioned, there are several wayside stations at which one or more of the above trains will stop whenever passengers desire to be set down or taken up. Local residents may ascertain which are the trains which cater for their towns, and may then work out. from the above 6gures, the time which the train will take to travel from the station immediately preceding. The Aackiand express reaches Palmerston, from the North, at 12 40 p.m. and arrives at 1 μ-tti-don at 4.7 p.m. The Auckland *;■ press leaves Thorndon at 12.10 1\ • > and reaches Palmerston at 3.35 \? ;
