A Difficult Position
[PER PREPS ASSOCIATION.] AIJ OK LAND, This Day. At the City Council last night members joined in requesting tho Mayor, Mr Parr, to decline nomination for the city west seat in the Parliamentary election, and to devote his whole- atte-nh'on to the important undertaking that the Co-un-c:' has entered upon.
The Mayor replied that he was in a difficult position . Tie recognised il'at- the councillors probably voiced the views of citiznes, and promised careful consideration of tho matter, and an early statement as to his intentions.
