The hall was comfortably filled, and a very pleasant evening was spent. Mr J. McLeavey was M.C., and everything went with a swing. The dances were interspersed with music ca' items, contributed by a. number of the guests, which agreeably varied tlie proceedings. A feature of the evening was a. "partner competition, tlie prizes in which were won by Mass Ransfield and Mr Carkeek. It was announced during tlie evening that a plain' aaid fancy dress ball would be held 1 there 'n arout a month's time.
