COLONIAL DATRY PRODUCE
Messrs W. Weddel and Co. send us their weekly market report, dated London, June 30, as follows :— Butter.—During the last few days the temperature has become more summer-like, and comparatively very little rain lias fallen. The rains of the past fortnight have refreshed the pastures, which are becoming greener every day. The demand for Australian butter is still good. The labour troubles have been an assistance to Australian th'is week owing to Siberian a.nd Scandinavian being detained in the holds of the vessels in the port of Hull. Arrivals of Australian have been 17,000 boxes, coming to hand, in the Osterley and the Ayrshire. Shipments from Australia this week consist of 7626 boxes.
Canadian new season's butter is beginning to a rive 'but only in small quantities, the prices in Canada at present are preventing shipments to this country.
Till© supply of foreign butter is increasing; arrivals for the last four weeks being 50,200 cwts in excess of the previous four. The increased supply came from Siberia, Denmark, France nnd Holland.
Cheese.—The demand for New Zealand cheese continues good, and supplies are diminishing. Receipts for tlie past four weeks are just a little over what they were for the previous four, the-exact figures being 25,546 cwts against 50,395. Tf compared: with twelve months ago the tctil arrivals of all kinds of choosy for the past four weeks are G1.897 cwts less than they were then.
