We draw attention to tlie advertisement relating to Mr S. K. .Lancaster's annual sale of selected and iruarauteed dairy stock. The chances of securing a really hn\l of dairy co«'s in this district have l;ren few and far between, as tiio sales held from time to time present hut a limited opportunity to those who an>l>uildin<r up a herd of good cows. Recoo;i> Yi>i;j; this dearth Mr Lancaster, the \eilknown dairyman, lia.s made it a practice for some years past to hold a dairy sale on a large scale. Here, the dairymen requiring a large heixl can fill his requirements, as also can the small farmer secure a few cows, and they may huy with confidents, knowing that every cow offered is guaranteed to calve at date stated at the time of the .sale. Mr Lancaster has long been recognised as an authority on the ideal dairy cow. and liis undoubted- exeperience enables him to collect together only those cows which it pays to keep. The advantage to bo gained bv attending the sale must be apparent to all in want of good cows. As in the past, tlie sale will be conducted .by Abraham and "Williams, Ltd.. a.iul the date of the sale has ibecn .fixed for Wednesday, 2nd August.

WOOL, SKIN* AXD HIDE SALE. Abraham and "Williams, Ltd.. report on their -sale held oil 28tih in.st. as follows: —We offered a good catalogue of all classes of produce to a full attendance of buyers. Competition was good and all sorts sold well at prices oil a par with last rates. We quote :— Wool.—Rough crossbred, 7.U1; good crutehings, 5Jd to 51} d ; heavy crutch ings, 4:} d' to 5Jd; seedy, 4sd to 4tJd ; dead, 7d to 7,' t d ; pieces, 4Ad. Skins.—Medium crossbred, Gijd to 7d; coarse crossbred, GJd; halfwools, fid to G]d; quarter-wools, s}d : pelts, -Id ; shorn lambs, s:}d ; dead, ojd to sid ; shorts and inferior, 3d to 4Jd ; butchers' half-dry and green, extra, heavy. 8s Id; heavy, Gs 2d to Gs 4d; medium weihgts, 5s 3d to 5s lOd: light weights. 4s 9d to os.
