At the close of the service conducted in the Levin .Methodist Church last night by Air A\. H. Herd. Air .lanus Pn.iise was called upon to make a few remarks concerning the death of Mr T. E. Taylor, Al.l\, a prominent worker in the temperance cause. Air Prouse said he could say from the depth of his heart that a great and good man had fallen. His imperfections overstepped occasionally the bounds of prudence, but lie belonged to a. number of great reformers, such as Wesley, licoth. Tolstoy; all groat names. Levin's sympathy went out to the bereaved i'amiiy. which in its affliction had lor eomlort the beautiful memories connected with the many services rendered to humanity's cause by Mr Taylor: beautiful memories of good works and kindly thoughts. liis public appearance was especially noteworthy, for' at the age of .sixteen he made a spirited attack against- an atheistic lecturer one Saturday Ever since then he had "pi-iyed the man," and had wrntr.l war lor yc-nr< against "li(|iiid death."
