l/.ViX WOOL, SKIN, AND HIDE SALE.

Lli tchings, Hankins, and Co., Ltd., report on their sale, (held yesterday as follows :—We submitted a largo catalogue, comprising 56 bales "and fadges wool, 1.150 sheepskins, 27! i hides, 5 casks and 20 tins tallow, and the usual quantity of i)y-pr;;du':ts. There was present tlio largest atendance of buyers for months past, and competition was exceptionally keen and animated. We f| :iitc" expected a light_ fall in wool values, instead of which the market remained very linn, and for really good crutebings prices wero at least :',d per lb higher. Hides wvix' in very strong demand, and the keen competition between two representatives of American firms had the effect of causing a rise of as much as Id per lb in many lines. For good conditioned light cow bides prices went -as high as G:'d, which is quite a record. Best calf skins made 9d per lb, an increase of Id on last quotations. We quote as follows :-— Wool.-Stragelrr fleece, s|>d, Grid, to Gid; dead wool. 6(1, Old, to 7d; erutobiivgs, best, okl, 53-d, to Gd; crutebings, ni?dium, 'lid, '13-d, to 5 id; lories and pieces from 3.\d to ■Id.
