" Fat cattle sold at about the previous week's nates and, in some cases showed a rise. Store .sheep met with a good sale. Fat lambs sold at about 'la.st week's rates and the fat sheep market opened linn and remained so throughout for prime \j'et ! hoiv-i and cto. Pigs of all classes sold at advanced rates and there was a considerable inci'ea.sio in the yarding of store .sheep. Tbe sale throughout shewed an improved (one, hoggets and/ good ewe.s selling well, prices being bettor, especially for hoggets, and 1 •,ve-Hu"rs were, fiiin but unchanged. There was an entry of about 1000 fat lambs only a .small proportion beituj; of prime quality. Though , only two buyers were operating to any extent the previous week's prices were well maintained, ranging from lls to IGs (id, and a \'e\v extra, to 17s 6d. The yarding of fat sheep was n'ot quite, as -large as the week 'before. The. range of prices was : Extra prime wethers to .'J5s, prime 19s to 255, medium l.Gs Gd to 18s Gd, light lls •Id to IGs, extra prime e-w<ss to 21s 9d, prime lGs to 20s, medium 12s Gd: to los Gd, a god and light 7s to 12s, extra, prime merino wethers 21s Gd to 2-1 s, prime 14s 9d. There were 2G9 head of fat cattle penned and included a number of very prime lines, and a large consignment from the Xortih Island. There was an active demand for prime, quialk-y, which sokl firmly at last week's rates, and in some cases at an advance. There was a keen demand for dairy cows and sales were made at £'.i 10s to, £9 15s. Fat pigs were entered in small numbers *nd there w<is a keien ■demand and an atlvanoo in prices. There wa.s a large entry of store pigs and a good sale for all classes.
CLEARING SALT?. On Monday next, at Tokoniaru, Abraham and Williams. Ltd., will sell on account of Mr G. R. Mcßae the whole of his berd of dairy cows and heifers, implements and furniture. Tho cows have proved fchem•solves to be second to none in the district, and their individual tests lr-vo. been kept which will he given out. as the cows arc sold. Thosere iiiiring heifers, can fill their reqn'rements, as upwards of 30 head wi'l be offered from yearlings to 3y. ar-olds. Mr Mcßae, lias decided to sell absolutely without reserve, a;•.11 as the stock is in good order a satisfactory sale should be sure.
