EVENTS IN SHANNON

(Chronicled by our Resident Representative.} Mr Willie Field. M.P., paid us a visit on Saturday. Ho was mot at the station by a number of his friends and supporters. In company with Mr Malcolm ho visited parts outside of the town, and everywhere lie was welcomed with much enthusiasm. Ho left by the afternoon train for Wnikanae. The Shannon Meat Co. hilled a bullock last, week which turned the scale at 1-lcwt. This is the .heaviest 'bullock ever killed in this district. The Butchers have challenged the Grocers to another football match. It has been rumoured that the Grocers are afraid to play. ,'lf tin's comes to W:p ears of'the Jieod of the Emporium there will be a match for a certaintv.
