In to-day's Chronicle appears an extended advertisement- regarding the sale of Mr 8. W. Carter's herd of high-grade Jersey and Bolstein dairy cattle. Tim sale, Which is being conducted l>y Messrs Ah rail nam and Williams, will take placo on the vendor's farm, which lie.s about half a uiilo to tho north of Shannon, along tho imiin county road. The auctioneers desire to let the public know that they have personally inspected this herd, and they have perfect co,nfidetico in. saying that they consider tho herd one of the choicest ever offered for sale in this district. Anyone in search of choice high-grade Jersey and Hol.sti'in. stock should make a special point of attending this .sale. A bay maro and a bay gelding foal hare 'been impounded at Levin. A verse about brads is published to-day by .Mr I' 1 . W. j'ink, whose easy rhymes are guaranteed to bo equalled by the quality mf his leather. There is a rumour that "a very pretty wedding" is to take place in Levin shortly. and guests to the same are advised by Mr E. W. J. Smith that they should call and inspect his .stock of presents suitable for such happy occasions. At the Central Mart to-morrow (Saturday) the Levin Auctioneering Co. will sell a very fine assortment of fruit and shelter trees, shrubs and ornamental plants from the mursery of Messrs Benefiold and Sims, ,Aramoho. This is a regular annual consignment from these nurseries, and tho trees always do well in the Levin district. The sale commences at 1.30 p.m., and as tho weather is suitable for planting, no doubt there will be a "tod demand at the sale. After the trees are disposed of, the firm will offer the usual catalogue of furniture -and prcdiice on account o-f several vendors, included, in tho list being one pianoforte, handsome hall stand, chests, wash-stands, etc.

An incubator of I'2o-egg on parity, is advortiscd for sale by Mr W. 11. Fitctett, of Shannon. Tlio price'ho asks is C 3.

Sudden death of .Tames Smith's (Limited) drnperv sale is announced for to-inorrow. To memorise the event, the proprietary announces that it is offering the 'goods tat extremely low values.
