It appears that, a man named Vincent went into a local hotel and displayed a £nO note in tho presence of the accused, who , fallowed him to tho back premises of another hotel, where they set upon him. knocking him down, and kicking him, causing severe injuries to his face. He was left senseless n-nd suhequieutly picked up. He had. however, deposited the note with the hotelkeeper before going to tbo hack premises.
