THE LOCAL TIME TADLE. Searching* through a railway iimfrtacle makes moat people irritable. The railway table, like the polony, contains many good things, bat the public prefer to have the on© particular food (whether mental or alimentary) desired on & given occasion, not a hotchpotch of figures concerning the branch line of Toko, the Bide track at Waggonville, or the cross line to Nevermsireh. The particular figures likely to be of benefit to dwellers between Paekakariki and Palnwston North are what readers of the Horcwhenua Chronicle need most, and for our readers' convenience those fignrea are now appended:—

As previously there are several wayside stations at which one or more of the above trains will stop whenever passengers desire to be set down or taken np. Local residents may ascertain which are the trains which cater for their towns, r.nd may then work out, from the above figures, the time which the train will take to travel from the station immediately preceding. The Auckland express reaches Palmerston, fr.>m the North, at 12.40 p.m. and arrives at Thorndon at 4.7 p.m. The Auckland express leaves Thorndon. at 12.15 p.m. and reaches Palmerston at 3.35 p.m
